Squaredy Cat Media was founded by a dynamic team of local professionals with experience in the fields of Internet, technology, marketing, publishing, and law.
Chris Davies
Chris, who oversees the day-to-day operations of Squaredy Cat Media, has spent his entire career involved with technology-based companies.
In 1996, Chris joined Lycos, Inc. as one of its earliest employees. Chris was part of a finance team that helped build Lycos from a start-up venture with less than $2 million in funding to an international public company, with operations in 42 countries. Lycos grew into one of the premier Internet companies with millions of visitors per day. During Chris’ tenure there, Lycos released dozens of innovative products and services; acquired and integrated 14 companies; created six major international joint ventures with partners that included Bertelsmann, Sumitomo, Bell Canada, and Singapore Telecom; and grew from start-up to over 3,000 employees.
In 2004, Chris joined RTE Group, Inc. as Vice President. RTE Group is a strategic consulting firm specializing in data centers and other technology-related assets. His main focus at RTE includes new business development, strategic planning, and operations.
Chris holds a B.S. from Bentley University.
Chris and his wife, Cathy, who grew up in Wellesley, live in nearby Wayland with their two young sons, Brennan and Reece. His interests include spending time with his family, training for and competing in triathlons, and rooting for our local sports teams.
Linda Cole
Linda, who focuses on business development and community relations, has had a career that spans the disciplines of publishing and law.
In 1987, Linda began her career as an Editor for Porter Sargent Publishers, Inc., a then Boston-based publisher of educational reference books. During her six years at Porter Sargent, Linda’s responsibilities ranged from proofreading, editing, and writing to book design, layout, and paste-up. Linda also managed the design and development of the company’s own titles brochure and marketing materials.
After completing her law degree in 1996, Linda joined RTE Group, Inc. as Vice President & General Counsel. While at RTE Group, Linda enabled numerous complex telecommunications and real estate lease/license agreements. She then went on to become one of three co-founders of CO Space, Inc., a leading provider of collocation/data center facilities and related operations services to the telecommunications, data, and Internet markets. At CO Space, Linda served as Director of Regulatory Compliance and a member of the business development team.
Linda holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Linda, who grew up in Wellesley, and her husband, Gabe, live in Wellesley with their sons, Griffyd and Dyllan, and their daughter, Lily. Aside from her first love of being a mother, Linda enjoys gardening, trail walking, writing, and her volunteer activities as a room parent at Hunnewell Elementary School and participation in alumnae events at Wellesley College.
Gabe Cole
Gabe, who heads up the development and operation of our technology platform, is a proven entrepreneur who has started, successfully built, and sold several technology companies.
In 1986, Gabe began his career as an engineer for Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc., a leading consulting engineering firm specializing in investigation of product, infrastructure, and facility failures. While at SGH, Gabe worked on several historically significant projects, such as the restoration of the main library, rare book library, and law school at Yale University, and served as a repeat guest lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Design and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
In 1993, Gabe founded his own technology consulting firm, RTE Group, Inc. While at RTE Group, Gabe co-founded and was CEO of CO Space, Inc, a leading provider of collocation/data center facilities and related services. Under Gabe’s leadership, CO Space grew its holdings to seven world-class data centers, and was developing seven more, at the time of its sale to Internap Network Services in 2000. CO Space had also filed its IPO prior to its purchase by Internap.
After the sale of CO Space, Gabe returned to RTE Group and, shortly after, founded another company: Enclave Properties. Enclave partnered with a major Northeast real estate developer to purchase and reposition data center assets and technology facilities. In 2005, the Enclave portfolio was purchased at a significant premium by Digital Realty Trust, a public REIT in the data center space.
Since 2005, Gabe has managed RTE Group on a day-to-day basis, driving domestic and international data center projects, including the recent design and development of a large, environmentally progressive data center complex currently underway in the Republic of Iceland.
Gabe holds an S.B. and S.M. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Gabe and his wife, Linda, live in Wellesley with their sons, Griffyd and Dyllan, and their daughter, Lily. When not engaged in a consulting project, Gabe enjoys teaching his children how to care for the many plants, ornamental trees, and shrubs in their yard, technology and real estate projects, leading the Bear Den for Hunnewell Elementary School’s Pack 192 cub scouts, his many entrepreneurship activities, and his activities as a guest lecturer for Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for Real Estate.
