Squaredy Cat Media
Squaredy Cat Media is developing its hyperlocal community commerce sites to serve as a virtual gateway to the unique shops, eateries, products, and services that are found in the traditional town square. We strive to help town squares, and similar local shopping areas, fully utilize the power of the Internet as a community. Our goal is to enable local merchants to realize benefits from the virtual world while maintaining focus on their own day-to-day operations.
Traditionally, many small town-square merchants have not had the benefit of an online presence and, because of that, stand to lose prospective customers in an Internet-savvy demographic. Utilizing the Internet is an efficient and cost-effective way to reach consumers, and we believe that a concentrated and sustained online community presence can significantly broaden the reach of these independent shops. Our goal is to preserve the traditional town-square feel by providing the level of detail necessary for our merchants to succeed, while, at the same time, enhancing their accessibility to an increasingly information-centric customer base.
We are currently promoting our first square – www.WellesleySquare.com – which launched in May 2009. As we work to promote and build WellesleySquare.com, we are also researching communities with similar demographics and business needs. We intend to roll out our unique concept in a handful of communities, thus providing cross-marketing opportunities for our merchants, but to do so carefully and with consistent depth. Our focus is on New England primarily, as we feel it has some of the richest local shopping squares and favorable demographics in the country.
