Founded by Valerie Gates, an experienced creative director, commercial photographer and filmmaker, and Barry Friedman, an experienced creative web and print production director, Gates Studio offers clients the best of both worlds: the one-on-one personalized attention and low overhead of a small studio and the creative expertise of 20 years of delivering in-depth naming, branding and identity packages to start-ups, non-profits and Fortune 500 companies.
With over 15 years of design direction in the media, entertainment, and advertising industries of Boston and LA, Valerie brings a keen eye and numerous awards to the table, including an EMMY, the CBS Eye-On-Excellence Award, and BDA, PROMAX and American Film Institute/SONY National Directing awards.
Barry Friedman has extensive hands-on experience throughout all phases of creative services development and production, producing a diverse range of creative projects with exceptional attention to detail. He has designed and produced marketing collateral, DVD and CD packaging, point-of-purchase displays, catalogs, websites and corporate presentations for such companies as Sapient, Reebok, ISM, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Records and Motown.
